Thank you for partnering with us!

It is through the partnership, cooperation and support of businesses, communities and individuals that we are celebrating a 10 Year Anniversary together.

As you make the ArtWalk journey this summer, we encourage you to invite friends and family to come along. Plan a day or more, and take your time meeting the people from our host businesses. Create experiences during your trip while enjoying the walks, coffee, lunch and shopping in the different locations. Please share your experiences in social media using #WVANAArtWalk16 , we want to hear what you enjoyed the most and what are some of your favourite art pieces.

We hope you enjoy the variety of media, locations and communities you will visit in this ArtWalk.

Stay tuned through our website and social media to know the dates and times you can participate in our coming ArtWalk Experiences (demos, lessons or workshops), especially during our Kickoff at Oldstice, Olds on June 18th and Alberta Culture Days: September 30th to October 2nd.

Enjoy the 2016 ArtWalk journey and thank you again for your continuous support.

From June 18th through October 2, you can stroll through the shopping districts of five vital Central Alberta communities to view the amazing talents of local artists.
The Wellspring Visual ArtNetwork Association was founded in 2006 to provide opportunities – like our Annual ArtWalk – for local artists to come out of their studios and showcase their work. The Association connects artists to share knowledge, information and collaborate on shows and exhibits.

Wellspring Visual ArtNetwork Association has an active membership of 47 Visual Artists, covering the rural area south of Red Deer, north of Calgary, east and west to the Alberta borders. It is a not-for-profit organization whose member Artists are juried to establish and maintain a high standard of Fine Art in many mediums. These works are original in design and concept and display diverse artistic creativity. The vision and prime directive is to advance and promote appreciation of Visual Arts in this rural community.

Carstairs is a short 25 minute drive north of Calgary. Rolling hillsides and scenic pastures and wetlands makes Carstairs a quiet, peaceful community, a great place for families and precious ‘downtime’. During the summer months Carstairs hosts one of the fastest-growing attractions in the County, the Mountain View Music Fest.

A lovely community of 4900, Didsbury boasts perhaps one of the most historic and scenic downtown centres in the region. Surrounded by period homes from the early 20th century, downtown Didsbury is an architectural delight. Original sandstone structures dating back over 75 years provide a pleasant backdrop to some unique shopping experiences.

Innisfail crowns the northern edge of our tour. Located adjacent to Highway 2, it offers easy access to the urban hubs of the Alberta Corridor. A bustling downtown boasts shops and restaurants that will surprise and delight. The surrounding parkland and nearby lakes offer camping and recreational opportunities within a few minutes of town.

The booming town of Olds has long been a hub of activity in the region. Industry, commerce, technology and sustainability initiatives makes Olds one of the more progressive towns in Alberta. And you are about to be witness to another less-known fact about the town of Olds; for this community of 8200 boasts having the most artists per capita in all of Alberta.

The town of Sundre cherishes its traditional western roots as it builds its future. Home to a world-famous museum, internet cafés, and a fine arts centre, Sundre nurtures creativity alongside commerce. From golf courses to whitewater rafting to trail rides and backpacking adventures, Sundre is the outdoor enthusiast’s perfect playground.
