Janice GallantJanice Gallant

I first learned how to create with oil paints when I was twelve years old from my talented father. Being surrounded all my life with many great artists I learned many techniques and have created artwork in pencil, charcoal, oils, watercolors, acrylics and soapstone. Now almost 30 years later, I have combined what I have learned with my own style.

There are many famous artists that have inspired me along my way, Ted Harrison, The Group of Seven artists, and Emily Carr to name a few, and they have helped me learn to paint from the heart as that is what is truly important. We live in a world of color, energy and movement and I hope my paintings depict this along with tickling your emotions in a wonderful way.

Living in Alberta, I am continually inspired by the scenery around me and the students I teach. I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I love creating them.
